Our Physicians
Our medical team includes the following allergists:
An allergist/immunologist is a physician trained to prevent, diagnose, manage, and treat allergic disease. As a result of extensive study and training, allergists/immunologists are highly qualified to manage immune system disorders such as allergies, asthma, inherited immunodeficiency diseases, and autoimmune diseases.
Doctor Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is a doctoral degree for physicians. They are known as osteopathic physicians. In the United States, the D.O. and the M.D. are the only two degrees permitting licensure as medical physicians. D.O. and M.D. physicians undergo similar training; both require four years of training in the basic and clinical sciences and the successful completion of residency and licensing exams. D.O. physicians receive additional training in osteopathic manipulation. Not all D.O. physicians incorporate osteopathic manipulation into their practices. D.O. and M.D. physicians train and work side by side at many of the same institutions and hospitals across the country.
Nurse Practitioners (NP's) are registered nurses who are prepared, through advanced education and clinical training, to provide a wide range of preventive and acute health care services to individuals of all ages. NP's complete graduate-level education preparation that leads to a master's degree. NP's take histories and provide complete physical examinations; diagnose and treat many common acute and chronic problems; interpret laboratory results and X-rays; prescribe and manage medications and other therapies; provide health teaching and supportive counseling with an emphasis on prevention of illness and health maintenance; and refer patients to other health professionals as needed. NP's are authorized to practice across the nation and have prescriptive privileges.
